A little about Sofia:Ā
Sofia is a modern-day Curandererismo/Energy Healing Practitioner and Teacher.
She was fortunate and blessed to grow up within 'the practice' in a spiritually metaphysical friendly home/family. From a very young age her maternal grandmother a Mixtec indigenous woman from Oaxaca and sought out 'Grandmother' taught her how to connect with people, nature & spirit. Through the generational teachings of her family, past/current mentors and her constant search for spiritual/personal growth she blendsĀ a combination of different healing modalities to help address any physical, emotional, mental and spiritual imbalances. She enjoys helping & teaching others how to bring healing to their own bodies and life; assisting and empowering people with the tools and guidance so that they can step into their own magic.
With over 25yrs of experience Sofia is here to create a safe space where you can heal, feel seen, heard and valued.
How & Why Is Energy Work Essential To Our Well Being
We have 4 bodies; the Physical, the Emotional, the Mental & the Spiritual. Just as we have different channels that go through the physical body; such as the lymphatic, cardiovascular & nervous systems to name a few, we also have the Subtle Energetic Anatomy System. Every organ and cell in your body gives out a certain amount of electro magnetic energy, light & sound. We have energy points called "Chakras" which are energy centers that influence or biological & physical; and just as we have our lungs, kidneys, thyroid, etc. you can view your chakras as organs/glands within the subtle system as such correspond to certain physical organs & glands. When you add energy work to your self care and healing routine you are working at an energetic & spiritual level; all which will influence the energy within your physical body.Ā
Energy Work takes on very different looks. A few would be Reiki, Curanderismo Limpia's, Meditation, attending Healing Cacao or Community Circles, Chakra Work, Prayer, Crystal Healing, Sound Healing and more...
What is Curanderismo
The root word Curanderismo (Curar) means to heal. It is a traditional holistic healing practice which treats physical, emotional, mental & spiritual ailments as one/inseparable. It is mostly rooted in Indigenous, South American/Mesoamerica, and African traditions.
Based on ancient tradition and teachings, it is understood that everything starts in the astral (spiritual/non ordinary realms) and that sacred objects & places have animated qualities, with their own sacred essence energy. Such things and/or places contain a divine soul-like essence that gives them life; for example: Ceremonial Tools, Sacred Locations, The Elements & Buildings/Altars to name a few.Ā
Curanderismo treats any imbalances and ailments by finding the root cause, which usually is found within the astral/spiritual, while also working on the emotional, mental & physical.Ā Ā
It uses Limpia's (cleansings) which can be done with herbs/plants, tobacco, sahumerios (smoke), water, fire, rituals, prayer, and energy work to name a few. This will depend on what the the issue/ailment is...Ā
Embarking the Spiritual Journey
Is not for the weak; as usually this journey is taken on during a point in our life's when we feel great pain, desolation and/or confusion. This is the moment you realize that YOU need to do something different... Having the courage to go into the unknown to face your 'demons' not knowing what the heck you are doing, but believing you are meant for more is having FAITH in yourself and the beginning of truly living life and "Marching to the beat of your own Drum"

Being Grateful
Practicing gratitude opens up the doors to more opportunities & relationships. It also helps improve our physical, psychological & emotional health. There is always something to be grateful for; look all around you. When you wake up give thanks for another day. The more aware you become of being grateful and practice it the happier you'll be.
Finding Time for You
Finding time to be alone in today's world is difficult specially if you are a mom. Make time for you! Alone time allows the brain to re-boot and re-charge as it can also improve concentration & productivity. When we are alone we can better reflect and become self-aware allowing us to take better charge of our lives. Journaling your thoughts can help.
Nurture Your Spirit
The spiritual journey is a self induced and guided journey, one where you start by looking within; exploring and maybe challenging your personal values and believes. Allow spirit to lead, be kind, be patient with your progress and learn to love & forgive yourself. Practice mindfulness, do good deed's, be in nature, fuel your hobbies & passions!
